City Hammer West Ham to Continue Win Streak

 Amar Zukancic

On Saturday City cruised to a victory over West Ham to continue the quest for a perfect month of December. Erling Haaland bagged a brace and Tijjani Reijnders got on the scoresheet again as this amazing run of form continued for Pep’s Blues. It felt like a classic City performance where the result was never in doubt, and it was utter class displayed for all 90 minutes. It was yet another 3-0 win for City, and another two goals helped Erling Haaland get back in form.
There were many standouts from the match, but the obvious ones are Haaland and Cherki. An early Foden move got him into the box where he squared it to Haaland, and on his second chance he gave City the lead 5 mins in. After that a beautiful move that reminded me of City’s move against Leicester in the 2017/18 season was capped off by a spectacular finish into the roof of the net by Tijjani Reijnders. In the second half there was yet another great substitute appearance from Savinho, who alongside Rico Lewis helped set up Haaland for his second goal of the evening.
The trio of Haaland, Foden, and Cherki is looking to be a formidable spine for the team and were the core to what happened. Foden is looking to be back to his old self, Haaland is continuing his Balon’dor form, and Cherki is finally getting some rhythm in this team. It is looking very promising for this season, and with us still in all four competitions and this close to Arsenal, this could sure be a season to remember. Now a week off until we head off to Nottingham and attempt to close out the month, and year with another win.
